The Emporia Camera Club newsletter

Emporia Camera Club Newsletter - Oct 2008

Hello everyone,

This Wednesday evening, Oct 15th, we’ll meet at the Emporia Presbyterian Church for our monthly meeting. The meeting will start at the usual time, 7:00 p.m.

Here are some highlights for the evening:

Casey Wilson, a fine local professional photographer, will share some of his landscape and animal photography. Most of you will be familiar with his work, displayed and sold at the Plum Bazaar.

Brandon Depew will provide a tutorial on photo compositing (merging two or more images into one composition). Many of you have expressed a desire for training in this, so here’s your chance to learn the tricks.

September Emporia Camera Club Newsletter

Hello Emporia Camera Club members and friends,
As I write this, Hurricane Ike is closing in on Galveston and the Texas coast.  This is going to be very bad night, if the storm lives up to expectations. So, we hold them in our thoughts as we plan for our next camera club meeting.
Next Wednesday, Sept 17th, at 7:00 p.m., join your fellow photographers at the Emporia Presbyterian Church.

Exhibit up at the ESU Memorial Union Skyline Room

Hello to all Camera Club members,

Paul Johnston, Roger Heineken, and I just completed putting up the show in the Skyline Room in the Memorial Union on the ESU campus.  It is a very nice and interesting show.  You should see it!  The Skyline Room opens for lunch about 11:30 or so and closes about 1:15.  You can get a very fine lunch for a very good price, and you can top it off with a good look at the 30 to 40  photos that won awards in our own show and the just completed fair exhibition.

I highly recommend it.
