This little tree frog is waiting for the buffet to come to him in the morning on the last day of the 2009 Daylily Tour at Toad Hollow Daylily & Iris Farm east of Emporia, Kansas. This froggy technique is not uncommon. The frog rest in the blossom and waits for an unsuspecting ant or other insect to crawl toward the motionless amphibian. A quick flick of the tongue and dinner is/was served with little effort. Photograph by Roger Heineken |
